On the subject of music these are some work I've done in my spare time.
This is something I came up with when I was asked to do a a flyer for a Club night.

This is something I did and sent to one of my favourite bands, Liverpool based, quirky post-punk electric guitar and vintage organ outfit with such successes as appearances on the Late Show with Davis Letterman - Clinic who according to their manager were "loving it" and said they would let me know if anything came up they could use it for.
Music
I thought I'd start to give small insights into other interests of mine. This is for those who have a creative interest in the musical arts.
This weeks interest for me has been the news of a new full album by the Californian four piece Wooden Shjips for the end of the month. Their psychedelic trance from driving rhythm guitars and roaming lead is how I'd image the mad max thunderdome to sound if it were a dynamo powered loud speaker driven by the listener looking up at the stars from static bicycle ridden at a steady pace. I am interested to see what will be the next step for a group with a great sound who have been moving toward a more universal song structure and great album covers like this.
If you get a chance to see them live they mite even surprise you with a cover of Neil Young's vampire blues.

Sports equipment
Here’s some work I've been doing for The footballing brand Umbro.
This one of my favourite brands at the moment. As a company with a rich heritage in the sport, I admire their use of English wit to create authentic, progressive products that are still unmistakably football, classic and hold a sentiment that other modern football brands sometimes lack.

Concept Products
It's been a busy few months since my last visit to this blog and there is much to show and tell.
I found some spare time to put together a couple of personal product concepts.
A quick concept idea for a sophisticated and modern sculptured Hugo Boss mens perfume bottle. An alluminium pressed form brushed in a circular fashion emitting from the spray opening to create an interesting reflective quality that could be intensified by anodising.

This is a conceptual idea I had for an interior environment accessory.

Most recent brainchildren.
Weekend projects:
I was recently asked to describe the film Tron Legacy in five words. What I came back with was “sci-fi in a leather jacket”. This came from its modern soundtrack by popular pioneering French group Daft Punk, a dark, constant night atmosphere, motorcycle theme, and even Joseph Kosinski sports a leather jacket himself on behind the scenes video clips.
I decided to take inspiration from the youthful, modern, exhilarating style of the film along with recent successes of Renauit in motor sport and their trophy series to sketch a sports range in between the Clio and Megane.
This is an entertainment design idea for a new breed of military aerospace technology designed for the control of unmanned aircraft. The user is placed in a wind dome where he uses a winged suit to control his movement through the air. Reflectors on his outfit relay back information to sensors on the dome walls in the form of laser beams. The angles and speed at which the laser beams return when reflected from each individually characterised plate is used as information to control the aircraft remotely. These aircraft are highly agile, as they are not constrained by human safety or interface. The technology allows the user to kill accurately in third person. This creates spectacular action and interesting moral dilemmas.
